Wolfwalkers 2020
beautiful story about the colonialism of ireland using the extinction of wolves from the british isles for its metaphor/theme and cromwell’s conquest of ireland as its catalyst (even tho it’s not explicitly stated as cromwell it’s obvious bc it takes place in 1650 and the model is obviously designed off cromwell). loved it so much. fuck oliver cromwell!!!!!!!!

Iron Man 2 2010
iron man movies downgraded from military propaganda to “billionaires are uniquely qualified and exceptional and morally justified and governments are actually just holding back progress because the free market is good” propaganda. tony stark is just lex luthor with a different coat of paint lol. i was cheering for the ex-soviet villain tbh

Black Death 2010
i think the lack of moral consistency within black death was infuriating because i was never quite sure if it was anti-pagan or anti-christian. and then i realized, oh! the writing is awful! of course, there isn't consistency!
weird misogynistic elements too? terrible historical inaccuracies as well obviously (since this is a period drama written in the year 2010), since the witch hunts didn't occur until the early 1500s and even then, the witch-hunting craze took about a hundred years to reach england after the publishing of heinrich kramer's malleus maleficarum lol
anyways, just watch a different movie, this one is ass

L.A. Confidential 1997
this movie is far too willing to justify police brutality as long as it makes the protagonists look cool and there’s a sense of “justice” behind it. what a load of fucking shit.
the state shouldn’t have license to kill citizens, no matter if they’re guilty of the crime they’re accused of or not.
