Overwhelming and dissonant. That is how Howard's life is portrayed. I really felt it. The constant feeling of just not being able to make things happen and being utterly consumed by a crippling gambling addiction. I was impressed by the films ability to sustain it's intensity for the entire duration of the movie. It makes this film really memorable for me. The symbolism of Howard being an "uncut gem" himself is interesting. He is a real piece of shit who can't realize that he has everything. Really enjoyed this one
There is much to be said about Inception. Something I noticed on this rewatch was how Nolan tells you enough information to understand the plot, but does not tell you everything. Leaving the viewer to work out the rest. Such an enjoyable experience! For that reason, this movie has a ton of rewatchability.

The movie went hard on the visuals. Symmetric shots with inscribed shapes drew me in to the scene and forced me to watch the scary parts. Though shot in color, the use of black and white was an excellent artistic choice. Both calling back to the original and setting a bleak atmosphere.
