  Not even Pedro Pascal can really save how much I just do not like Nic Cage. He doesn't work for me. I feel like the only person in the world who feels this way. Not Mandy, not Face/Off, I doubt even Wild At Heart will make me see him any different. It's not like I have anything against him personally but as an actor? I can't get into it and worse, I think I'm genuinely starting to hate seeing him…

  This movie does not need to exist and yet it does. It's heavy-handed with it's "homage" to the original. It's dumb and it's generic and it makes me mad. It barely makes sense. I wish this movie had not been made. It was probably used as an excuse to keep the rights but it is a blight on Joel Rubin and Adrian Lyne's original. Fuck this movie.

  Been a while since I watched a Yakuza film or a Kitano film, so this hit the spot. Nothing too grand but still plenty entertaining. Kitano does what he does best and that's all I ask.
