  my parents apparently watched this in theaters during their honeymoon. I think it set a predicament on their marriage from that point up until their divorce

  I have a love hate relationship with this movie. On one hand it really inspired me as a young teen with my approach to art and storytelling. But also the story is deeply flawed in some aspects and left a lot to desire. Some of the scenes bring out the best out of Hiccup and Toothless' friendship, objectively the best parts of these movies but simultaneously putting Toothless in the backburner to prioritize Hiccup's journey and the half baked characters with some potential. I still deeply appreciate this and the 1st movie's existence because I wouldn't be the person I am today without them.
