Absolutely loved the first 50%-75% of this movie. Soundtrack is great. The intensity is there. The latter part of the movie is where it lost me. And oh boy did I hate the ending. Still... a very rewatchable movie, I just might not focus too hard on how it concludes.

How I've avoided seeing this for so long is beyond me. My lack of respect for 90s action films is perhaps the largest impediment to me investing the time for this classic. And I gotta say... This one is genuinely amazing. The premise offers some intrigue but the twists within just the first 40 minutes set this film on a path I couldn't have anticipated. This is what I hoped for from Escape Plan.

I really enjoyed this movie and it was definitely my type of film (thriller with a strong build) but it wasn’t quite executed to perfection. It was a bit difficult to track the throughline of the movie and keep track of all the trouble the protagonist had gotten himself into and with who. Felt like a movie I really wanted to give 5 stars to and now have to justify to myself why it is receiving (a still good) 4 stars.
