An incredibly well done, intense and emotional story about teenagers trying to cope with the aftermath of a school shooting.
So many angles are beautifully dealt with here.
But for me, the most heart wrenching was the relationship between Vada and her younger sister.
It illustrates how the trauma of the event will never fully leave those that experienced it.
Jenna Ortega is fantastic in this film.

I would've given this 5 if it weren't for the fact that the court room scenes at the end are WAY too long. They could've easily cut half of those scenes and the story would still have made sense and the film wouldn't have dragged for the final 20 minutes.
Other than that, it's a brilliant film, With its beautiful contrast of colour and black & white, and the special effects are very impressive for 1946.
David Niven is perfectly cast and Marius Goring is brilliantly camp as from the collector from the French revolution.

Without a doubt the BEST version of Dickens "A Christmas Carol" ever put on film.
The screenplay takes a couple of liberties with the original story, but only to add emphasis to why Scrooge is so miserable.
    And it really works.
The viewer gets to really understand the character and feel his pain.
Very early on you can see that Ebenezer is not all bad and has just lost sight of the person he once was.
