I've seen less than 0.1% of all movies, yet I still feel the need to have an opinion on everything I've watched.

This might be the most effective anti-drug PSA I have ever seen? The technical aspect of the practical effects (the blood, the puppets, the gore) are immaculate. There are shots in this movie that remind me of Possession, which leads me to believe that this director took a real earnest pride in this feature, and it shows. Not even "so bad it's good" this is such a genuine expression of art, and I am so here for it.

This film is really a hodgepodge of female exploitation. And the fact that it takes care to present each aspect with grace and nuance is an incredible feat of story telling. I laughed, I cried, and I was utterly horrified. This reminds me of "The White Ribbon" (though they may just be because of the black and white colour scheme, and that it's European).

Hooptober 23: This film is far funnier than it has any right to be. Heartfelt too! The story of a graveyard keeper who has to keep "returners" (this universe's version of zombies) at bay. It's great. The protagonist has a "I don't give a hoot" attitude that contrasts well with the constant grieving of everyone around him. This theme is followed through to a satisfying end. So if you like the idea of Frankenstein but wish it had more of a hitman angle, highly recommend.

Really this is just a tech demo for the early years of cinema. Should you watch it? Like, sure? The stop motion is worth it, but the story is really non-existent. If you are looking for an adaption of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's work, just watch the third Jurassic Park movie. But I would be lying if I didn't say I was surprised by the "gore" in this film.
