  I never usually vibed with McDonagh's work. There's always something posturing about his films.

  As a director, I think him to be very limited. Even 'In Bruges' doesn't age that well. In my opinion.

  That said, 'The Banshees of Inisherin' has some real power. Depression, friendship, and community all run through this film with humor and the right amount of melancholy. It genuinely keeps you guessing all the way to the end, which is really rare.
