  I enjoyed the first half as a standalone mummy movie, but it lost me when they brought in the whole MCU like monsterverse. Need a classic Robert Eggers mummy horror remake.

  Wow. That could have been a great movie.
  But I guess it only works in a 4 hours director's cut.

  The characters are really flat and I couldn't care less about their motives. The group is a bunch of good looking people randomly put together. Why? And why them? Nobody knows. To fight an entire empire? For a village of 30 people with 3 fields?
  The only deep character - and the only one I care about - is the imperial robot with his flower crown.

  What I liked:
  + Warhammer 40k vibes

  This movie has everything me as young boy enjoyed. Cool one-liners, martial arts, magic, monsters, slapstick, Kurt Russel.
  Today I enjoy all of these plus: a real set instead of the void and great monster puppets instead of CGI
