  This is a phenomenal movie that claims to be based on a "true story." It is entirely fictional. It claims to be based on Michael Powell's nonfiction book Canyon Dreams: A Basketball Season on the Navajo Nation but isn't. Sterlin Harjo didn't even read the book. He just wrote what he wanted to because he wanted to avoid a "white savior" story despite the coach in Powell's book being Latino. 

  I'm sounding negative, but I really did enjoy this movie. I was just mad when I found out none of the characters were real. Don't lie to me with false advertising!

  Happiness for Beginners 2023

  I enjoyed this! Soundtrack is terrible, and I imagine bad due to not having the budget for it. 

  Blythe Danner stole every scene she was in and deserved a larger role in the film.

  I thought this was stellar. I took a point off because the basketball games could have been much better. I disliked the two friends of Kamal. With so many good characters in this film, I would have cut them out and focused more on Kamal and his relationship with his son since fatherhood is a big theme in this movie.

  I liked Awkwafina in this though.
