  Some of the visuals are good but the story drags. The best part was on the moon. Other than that, it was average. Maybe a more grand movie score could have saved it.

  I saw the theatrical cut years ago and recently bought the extended version. It is slower-paced but I never got bored. The visuals and cinematography are still excellent. A little more singing but I enjoyed it. Tim Curry is the master and the makeup holds up to this today. Not your typical fantasy film. It is weird, just like me.
