Tragic, heartfelt but deeply disturbing - I am unsure why
Hayao Miyazaki's the wind rises does not often get the acclaim it deserves. Sheltered under Miyazaki's other exceptional pieces of work; to some this movie departs from the wonder and enchantment of the world of Ghibli and offers an entirely different experience. That would be a somber one, that asks the viewer to question what is important in life. Is it your passion, your work or the people closest to you.
