  i firmly believe that cooper raiff has a god given ability where everything he touches turns into a universally heart-wrenching ball of charm where every frame is irresistibly tangible and crafted with care.

  kind of a: we know she’s right, why does no one else think she’s right vibe 

  excellent manipulation of pre iraq tension, with undeniable support from keira knightleys natural stoicism (and perhaps malnourished appearance)

  i stand by the notion that the observer crew are the standouts in this film. 

  and then, 65 minutes in, ralph feinnes appears. 

  so, good, but i’m not sure what made me so emphatic the first time round. rewatched because i couldn’t for the life of me remember anything about this movie. couldn’t seem to find the same spark again

  what a tender and endearing story about powerful confident women. sophia kappel effortlessly sells the charm and innocence of this character, she makes a narrative that is so far removed for so many feel relatable. 
  i love the bella-joy friendship storyline, the growth of bella’s character, joys help in her finding herself,and then the reversal in their roles in the friendship once bella becomes a spiegler girl. its lovely to see a strong female friendship in a movie.
