A movie about a tortured artist who gets tortured and tortures everyone around him. I watched this from a place of resenting the brilliant artist trope. It’s highly polished and beautifully directed and acted but I just couldn’t go along for the ride as much as I wished to.

They did a great job of capturing a moment in time! I got lost in the early 1960’s and was glad to be immersed in such a transformative time. While I love that they had a balanced and unglamorous portrayal of Bob Dylan it was hard to buy into the primary conflict of the movie. This movie is about artistic growth and the bravery required to pursue your vision. In this case, the vision was Bob Dylan’s controversial decision to go electric. Not the highest stakes if I’m being honest…

The production design on this movie alone is a reason to watch it. The mystery pretty much requires solves itself in the first 5 minutes of the movie which really takes the wind out of the suspense sails sadly

Haven't seen anything like it really and was totally captured by the world they created. It felt like a play or a modern retelling of an ancient story. Beautiful and worth watching.
