i don’t even know what to say… this wasn’t even a movie, it felt more like a memory. the soundtrack, the score, the acting that didn’t even feel like acting, it all harmonized to create one fluid masterpiece. i think this is going to be my christmas movie, every year around this time i’ll sit down and watch this.

La Haine 1995
this was the first film i watched that opened up the world of cinema to me. what drew me initially was how simple it was to enter into the shoes of characters like vinz, an inner city kid who chased what any inner city kid wants, money and notoriety. that was me when i first watched this film, that still is me and that’s why this film is so close to my heart. i’ll always love this film and i wish i could rewatch it for the first time just to relive the experience of watching the ending scene again.
