Absolutely fucking bongos …but after a slow start, entertaining bongos. Two-strip Technicolor was a beautiful format.

Bank of Dave 2: The Loan Ranger 2025
Good natured (of course) but gets Very Silly Indeed in the last act, and sets up loads of things that just never go anywhere (“Dave, call this guy, he can help, here’s his card” - we never ever meet this person, the help is rendered entirely off-screen). Acting by Kinnear, Hartley, Shah and Metz lovely, but the spark brought by Phoebe Dynevor and Joel Fry to the first film is sorely missing.

Timestalker 2024
This film is so literally inspiring. Along with Hoard, it has genuinely expanded my mind and boldness as to what I’m trying with my own writing. In the cinema I was a little thrown off by the length (I kind of wanted more) but on this second watch* nah, it’s perfect, and totally, wonderfully singular
