didn’t expect it to be this level of laugh-out-loud funny😭 basically what charlie’s angels attempts to be but never quite hits the nail on the head like this film does. this is a 100-minute long adrenaline high underpinned by two juxtaposing female leads who offer equally bombastic performances. beneath the fast-paced action and celebration of the multifaceted demarcation of femininity; lies a reminder about the importance of human connection, and following where your heart leads.
that final act is probably one of my favourite scenes in film now. ryugasaki momoko belongs in my favourite genre of girls🫶🏻

dropped this one at the 90-minute mark. sorry i just think involving the MC in a romantic relationship (and with a MAN too) defeats the purpose of this film. the first 3/4 of the film is a unique and solid exploration of micro-aggressions against women in japanese society, complete with witty dialogue and appropriately idyllic visuals, so it isn’t entirely unwatchable.
