Bad Lieutenant 1992
i was expecting something completely different based on the poster. one of the most harrowing films i've seen. somehow, despite the bleak and miserable narrative it never gives in to nihilism, and it's all the more painful for it. utterly heartbreaking meditation on catholicism and redemption.
