    If I could magically transmit one message to all film directors, it would be the following: just because you hold the same shot for a long time does NOT automatically make that shot meaningful. If I could transmit a second one, it would be this: you can’t just repeat the same exact idea/message throughout your film – you actually have to develop that idea to make your film compelling.
