a beautiful display of finding and excepting oneself. an excellent piece of cinema that takes us through the process of thelma’s recovery from her line of thinking. trier allows us to take the hand of thelma, as she navigates her way through the outside world, discovering and acknowledging her own queer identity as she attempts to shred the strict christian beliefs that she has aligned with, all the while trying to figure out the meaning behind her sudden and sporadic seizures.
