This was not an enjoyable watch. The rock is cool, but always plays one of two types of roles. Chris Evans created a pet peeve for me; he constantly shakes his head every time he speaks and is very inconsistent with his accent.
The plot of the movie was a 1/5 idea and The Rock doesn’t work well without his comedic relief, but the CGI was fairly impressive majority of the time.
Solid movie! Jason Bateman does an outstanding job playing a pivotal role in tying this film together. The writing is ass sometimes but for the most part, the plot was quite well thought out and ultimately, kept me interested the entire time.
My biggest issue with this movie is the line “texting and driving that’s how I kill people” and the lack of relevance of that very intentional line/scene. Frankly, this detective played such a little role in the film,…
I’d argue this is the best musical movie ever made. I didn’t know anything about Wicked or frankly the wizard of Oz at all, and this proved to be one of the most touching stories I've seen. Surprisingly, Ariana Grande pulls off funny, quirky, passionate, and heartfelt incredibly well, while Cynthia acts the story with significant emotion. From the realism of the film style and scenery to the cameos, absolutely perfect in my opinion.
Wonka was a wonderful take on the origins of Willy Wonka. For a musical, the singing well incredibly well paced and did not overwhelm the story of the movie. Timothee is delightfully EXUBERANT in the role and genuinely portrayed the chocolate salesman in the way I would want to see him. The film balanced the insane ambition of Wonka with an equally insane series of events lead by his rivals. The story we received had moments worth both tears and laughs, but will certainly keep your attention in between.
I will likely watch this again.
