This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
A fantastic (and funny) critique on political/religious grifters and how they use disadvantaged/poor people like puppets to make themselves look like gods.
Mark Ruffalo played a convincing antagonist whose main goal is (you guessed it) to colonize another planet after a failed political dream. He was honestly a little too convincing.
Mickey 17 should have DEFINITELY seen what THAT was like during that one scene instead of pussyfooting around (LOCK YOUR DOORS).
Shoutout 18 though!
There was no reason to include that IDF lady in the movie. It should have 100% been Misty Knight.
And I get the military propaganda but boy, her being in it, surface level politics, an extremely watered down version of the Serpent Society, and poor dialogue really brings the movie down.
-Every actor/actress did what they had to do.
-You can see influences of some of your favorite anime fight scenes within each match.
-Jonathan Majors dove DEEP into his character (accent and all)
-The final match is one of my favorite fight scenes of all time (for now)
-Definitely went to the gym the day after seeing this movie
Nov ‘22 - I’m a christmas nigga and this was dope christmas movie.
Dec ‘24 - Rewatched this movie and it still holds up as a wonderful musical Christmas story. Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds were a great duo that provided good laughs and emotion throughout the film. The final 2 words I will say about this film. GOOD AFTERNOON!
