Unless you’re pure evil, you will not stop smiling all the way through. Touching romance story and a certified classic. The only criticism is that the ending could have been more climactic
A very solid film from a time when movies were actually good. Adventure, action, a bit of romance, beating up Nazis, and religious artifacts makes for a neat combo for a movie. Marion, Indiana’s love interest, is feisty and independent, but she still has a feminine, nurturing side to her. Not an ABSOLUTE GIRLBOSS like in “modern” Hollywood slop. Overall, this 80s movie still holds up very well.
Also, a little monkey does a Nazi salute at one point and it’s hilarious.
Certainly a sequel of all time. Considerably darker and overall less-fun-to-watch than the first film. It is anti-paganism though, which is super based. The mine cart chase scene is the best in the whole movie.
At one point, they’re served food in India, and the movie shows beetles and monkey brains as Indian cuisine. What did the filmmakers possibly mean by this?
