Shiva Baby 2020
so scary and good. definitely one of those “nothing really happens” movies but doesnt feel like its missing much despite that although i wish that we got to see more of her life outside the Shiva although that obviously would undermine the whole premise of the movie

literally loved this so much after rewatching. the actors (particularly mercutio) do such an amazing job translating Shakespearean english for the modern day viewer with their dramatic gestures and performance. also love the directing style w the random zoom ins, high speeds, etc. I dont love the similar style Baz Lurhman applies to the Great Gatsby bc the story, location, and time period is already so grand itself, but its so camp and perfect when applied to Shakespeare which to a modern audience can seem boring if not supported by the dramatic music, camera choices, costumes, and sets. love.
