oblique, erotic, dark & featherlight at once - I entered an flow-fugue state within the first 10 minutes and stayed there for the rest of the film (been watching lots of these recently: etel adnan’s motion, antónio reis and margarida cordeiro’s ana, tarkovsky’s mirror), only surfacing every now and then to burn a captivating image/fragment into my brain. Will demand a rewatch!

some really beautiful images and ideas, very painterly, but the pastoral nostalgia starts to grate after a while, even for someone with an above average tolerance for that sort of thing. drifted in and out of consciousness and had many other thoughts for most of the 2 hours but not in a way that I hold against the movie. more like it staged the atmosphere for that state of sleepy dreaming
