i decided to rewatch this movie recently and normally i dont really like sex scenes in movies cus idk makes me uncomfortable sometimes but the one in carol is genuinely so well directed, very soft and romantic and also passionate and not overtly sexual or fetishized — its just good
also cate blanchett is hot but thats besides the point

i thought the scene with stevie and estee was kinda predatory with the age gap and all, also because the actor of stevie filmed this while he was 11 - but then again i guess that was kinda the point of the scene. but you can still show that sort of idea without using actual children.
