  Hans Zimmer & Friends: Diamond in the Desert 2025

  Loved the concert footage. I was fortunate enough to see Zimmer live back in 2017, which I believe was his first tour. I haven't been to a concert post-COVID so catching this on a big screen was likely the closest I'll get to seeing how much his live show has been updated since then.

  I appreciate the desire to make this more than "just" a concert film but the interviews that bookend the performances are pretty hit-or-miss. The moment he sat down with Pharrell, I took a rare mid-movie bathroom break.

  Ugly, interminable trash for the most part. Of note, though: this is one of the most amusingly cold-hearted disaster movies I've seen in a minute. Dead bodies litter seemingly every scene and one particular character suffers a hilariously cruel fate early on.

  Maybe I'm just too antisocial to relate to these people, but if I was on vacation and met the world's most obviously evil family, and some time later they invited me to bring my child and spend a week at their remote house in another country? I would just... not go.
