the poor being disposable, the disconnected depravity of the wealthy, identity in transience, settler colonialism... if you told me a movie touched on all these topics, I'd expect it to be a drag; but thankfully this wasn't! It's a serious movie, without taking itself too seriously (esp. enjoyed R Patz being goofy as his 'wimpy kid'/'psycho' split identity)
