I'm not sure where to begin with this. There's a lot of trauma in this film, as is there's a nonzero chance that anyone's queer experience would contain at least some sort of trauma- being ostracized, cast out, hurt, abused, assaulted; you name it.
Flashbacks occur in this film. Small tiny interlaced shots of other memories of Eddie's, the protagonist of the film, pop up every now and then in-between scenes. I really enjoyed that kind of visual storytelling.
