The first 1/3 of the movie is beautiful, interesting, and well paced. I wanted to see more of the gang activities, more of the protest, more of neo Tokyo. That first third was cool, very enjoyable, beautiful. It then turned into something else completely and everything i liked about it went to the wayside. I personally didn’t really care for the mutant superpower stuff… Or the war and the explosions and the shooting lasers.
Go check the movie poster, it’s Akira walking towards his red iconic bike, Akira looks coo, the bike looks cool, they look cool together, and that’s what i wanted to see.
Disappointed.
