  Time will tell of course, but if you ask me today, with a couple revisions to that “I’m not a bartender, I’m a mixologist” haircut and Orlock could be duking it out for the #1 spot.

  This is the one. It’s 50 years old and in that time I can think of few films that can even come close to being as rich and vibrant and beautiful, nor as shocking and visceral and disturbing, much less have such a natural blend of both. Grindhouse cinema at perhaps its most artistic.

  Alien 1979

  Somewhere between the anti-capitalism, the chest burster, the H. R. Giger, the milk blood, the Jonsey, and the Ripley of it all, I realized it’s not just a perfect movie, but it’s also my favorite. 

  What I would give to have been seated for this one back in 1979.
