Always Be My Maybe 2016
It was ok. It doesn’t make me want to watch it again so it doesn’t have that extra je ne sais quoi where I see myself needing to experience it again. It has some weird millennial Filipino energy and it tried hard to make some western “feels.” You don’t need to do that. Be authentically Filipino, stop trying to pander to this weird western daydream injection. Some parts of the story did not make sense but what is Filipino cinema if not extra in every way.
