Love me some over the top 70s/80s slashers, and anything with a killer soundtrack

Young Frankenstein 1974
While not my favorite Mel Brooks movie by a long shot, I love watching Gene Wilder do literally anything. I can appreciate the effort that went into the set design, and the B/W coloring is a nice touch. Don't need to rewatch it any time soon, but don't regret spending time with it.

Freaky 2020
"Freaky" proves that the 70's/80's slasher formula still holds up; all you need are some likable (albeit one-dimensional) characters, creative kills, and some self-aware comic relief. There's nothing brand new here beyond the "body swap" premise, but that's exactly what makes this movie fun. Watching the two leads impersonate each other is unexpectedly hilarious, and it would be great to see Kathryn Newton in some more horror roles - hopefully with some better writing.

The Producers 1967
A masterclass in slapstick and perfect dialogue delivery from Gene, paired with Zero's runaway train of energy. There's no break in the intensity of the performances, but it never feels overbearing. Like with most comedies, the occasional bit doesn't land; the sum of its parts still makes for an absurdly enjoyable experience.
