Donnie Darko 2001
Went to a midnight screening for the theatrical cut somehow I didn't fall asleep. Last time I watched the theatrical cut was back in 2004. This movie holds up pretty well and while I do love the killing moon which plays at the beginning of the theatrical, I honestly prefer the opening to the director's cut which plays never tear us apart.

The Monkey 2025
Saw an advanced 35mm screening. The deaths were hilarious and over the top. There's a surprising cameo from Elijah Wood, and Theo James has a sick mullet.

Saw this at the tribeca festival in 70mm. What a great crowd to see it with.

Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire 2023
Honestly, this movie wasn't as bad as the reviews have made it out to be. Yes, there are parts of the plot and characters that were under-developed (which I'm sure the R-rated version will correct), but visually, it's one of the better Star Wars inspired films I've seen. Kurosawa's influence is all over this, though seven samurai is the most obvious. While my initial reaction at first was Lucasfilm was foolish to turn this down, I'm glad that they did because this movie isn't afraid to get dirty.
