  Truly lucky to have watched this at the Egyptian… on nitrate! (The film, not me.) Absolutely hilarious. Imagine Mrs. Doubtfire, an Oz Munchkin, and Arnold Schwarzenegger teaming up to do crimes.

  The Monkey 2025

  Already my favorite film of 2025 (I know, the year is young). What really resonated with me is how this gleefully thumbs its nose at death and underlines the absurdly of life. It is a film that speaks from grief in the only sane way: by laughing at it. I saw this last night at the Vista in Los Feliz, with Osgood Perkins doing a hilarious (and deadpan) Q&A following the screening. I'm already itching to see it again.

  Elizabeth Sparkle takes some super-sketch Amazon Hub locker Ozempic and finds herself in the most exquisite and outrageous film I've seen in years. The body horror is not just limited to the Cronenberg/Barker/Yuza variety... I mean, watching Dennis Quaid devour crawfish was enough to send me crawling under my seat. Anyway, I'm clearly still processing this... but it's a fucking work of genius.

  I've now watched this for the second time, and I love it even more. I'm stunned by Edgar Wright's beautiful slight-of-hand, in both visuals and storytelling (with Krysty Wilson-Cairns). Go see it on the biggest screen you can find.
