immediately knew this would be a hit in twin nation because that music is phenomenal. i love how the shots want us to appreciate the natural beauty of arkansas regardless of whether you side with monica or jacob (or neither). maybe it just wants you to be present with the family regardless of where they live. some of the little plot points were very creative to me. it’s just special all around for me as a child of immigrants who grew up in a rural area.

    i really miss my grandmother.

some of it is great i appreciate that thee focus was on curing boredom and dissatisfaction with life rather than indulgence in something scandalous but something was missing for me i don’t know what but yeah it’s fine

a great time as expected! the opening act’s humor isn’t my taste though, and the pace of the first half or so feels too quick. imo this movie should’ve been ~10 minutes longer. the second half is awesome though. the humor and pacing feels more natural. the actors are stellar throughout the whole runtime though. other current hs movies/tv shows should take notes on how to write modern teenagers. the members of the fight club feel unique from each other as characters and form a natural group if that makes sense. this movie isn’t perfect but cinema needed it. i needed lesbian loser representation.

i sobbed too hard and too many times to rate this film any lower. the beginning felt a bit awkward but i have concluded it was intentional. as someone with daddy issues waymond is so precious and was the reason behind most of my tears; ke huy quan was destined for this performance. EEAAO made me reflect on personal issues on which i didn’t expect to reflect. a meaningful, beautiful film that deserves infinite accolades. i expected excellence and was served even more.
