  the first and only funeral i ever attended was for some might say a mentor, a friend, a family friend, but I simply knew her as an inspiration. the grief was too much a surprise, too unknown for me to understand the weight of it all. she’d been battling cancer for a decade and i never saw much of the silent struggle. 

  much of this movie is about that tension and wanting to be remembered for more than a decline.…
