  I sense a certain cautiousness here – this technique of dual dialogue, a voice that mocks the actions of the protagonist, who is pretentious, unbearably elitist, and at the same time superficial, reminds me of my own reflex to shield with humor everything that stems from my true need. I fear pretentiousness, and I see the director here in the same way – someone who, in reality, desires exactly what Jack’s grandiosity truly is, but is too self-aware not to defend himself against it.
  So, truly, it really turns out unbearably pretensious.
  And it's a shame, they had so much fun with camera work and all!
