This movie has aged in a very interesting way.

In 2011, using data and computers to solve problems was still seen as cutting edge, cool, and rebellious. Google and Facebook had essentially untarnished reputations. This is not the case today.

Is this really a movie about a courageous person struggling against dusty old losers who can't tolerate change? Or is it about a computer loving weirdo who was the first to ruin the messy, human spirit of an American institution?…

Bit of a let down after Badlands.

Badlands is a piece of graphic poetry that says something about America, the pursuit of fame, vanity, and men who desire power. It does this with such grace that these messages are coveyed as if not messages at all, in the most common place and breezy way possible.

    Certified hidden gem.

There are so many things I like about this movie it's hard to start. It's a well done historical fiction with hilarious dialogue, an extremely well done score, creative cinematography, and interesting formalism. It's has a clear point about people and history, but it doesn't feel simple minded. This is essentially a 10/10 for me and will no doubt be the start of me diving deep on Coxx's
    other movies.

I watched this in a sorta un-intended double feature with Days of Heaven, which was interesting.
