only thing even remotely close to enjoyable about this movie is how there is a part of truth in malena’s situation and it’s the people around her.
the men i didn’t care about, the women were what shook me to my core, how they treated her as a threat because her only sin was being beautiful, the way they only started seeing her as an equal once they took that away from her. all because women view their worth through men.
great depiction of the "male gaze" at times although i didn’t necessarily need to watch a preteen thirst over a woman, it’s weird and predatory…Translated from by -
