  if there are two things that de palma loves they’re misogyny and style over substance.

  it’s fine. beautifully shot and pacino is obviously doing pacino things, and i think those two factors have carried the movie far beyond its weight. bizarre that this is considered such a classic.

  Jacob's Ladder 1990

  i need to sit with this for longer but i definitely enjoyed it. exposition is painfully delivered at points which really takes you out of the liminal, otherworld vibe the film seems to be going for. the ending is very whatever. the imagery and cinematography carries a lot of weight here.

  maybe Woody Allen's disgusting-ness has colored my view of this movie, but i could not stand one second of it.
  the one good thing about this movie is Rachel McAdams, but unfortunately she is playing a character that is a representation of how all pretentious, egotistical men view women who disagree with them.
  our main character is a major ass and i hate him.
