Sean Connery captivated my a matriarchal Alien race, being scientifically and sexually examined. Movies from this era had a more spacious and fantastical horizon of mind.

This could had been a really good movie. Especially if it was made in the style of "Sleep".

I liked this movie a lot because it is a realistic depiction of how harsh a life fundamentalist Puritans had when entering the "New World". Also the way their beliefs shaped their thoughts, actions and relationships is shown in a very realistic and interesting way. But what makes this movie so amazing in the first place is that you can´t tell apart what about the protagonists perception in this hostile environment is superstition and what isn´t. The genre of the movie just becomes clear towards the end of the movie.
