- if the only thing you took away from this is “weird”, you are missing out on so much good stuff like

a complete toxic mumbling asshole
this film has some things going for it - a good conflict (dynamic nature of evolution of music, traditionalist vs modern, ethics and dynamics of being successful, powerful and famous), good music and acting (especially edward norton and monica barbaro) and some good quotes (being a plate for the french carnival guy, leave some mud on the carpet). But it feels like these good things need to be squeezed out of the movie like drops from a lemon
