When Marnie Was There 2014
how do i start with this film. it’s so relatable in some way that i can’t explain. i resonated with both anna and marnie. though everything was kind of confusing in the beginning, i felt the emotions through this film deeply. the film tells about dealing with abandonment and loneliness as a child. it’s great to see anna’s character change from being depressed and distant to being open and friendly. i didn’t expect that plot twist though perhaps ghibli queer baited me but i appreciate the film very much. it’s very fitting to be studio ghibli’s last film.
