I don’t see this movie as a romance.
I see two people exhausted, tired of the new things they do (going to a new city/country, tv show etc…). Bob even said « It’s not fun, it’s different (or smth like that). What both want, is to do something they want, to feel free, free from the wife/kids/work, or free from the husband who doesn’t give any attention to her.
