The picture is good and the acting is great, but the script couldn't commit to its own premise. In the end, Lester avoids sleeping with the underage object of his affection, a move clearly meant to preserve some moral high ground on behalf of the writers themselves. Really? After all of the inappropriateness that is the rest of the film? There is no in-story reason for Lester to betray his lust in the final moment except that it wouldn't play well for general audiences. Really brave storytelling. Bravo. It's a lukewarm 3 out of 5 from me.
