I’m so mad at what they did to this story. I really feel like it could’ve been good. I will say though, that it’s not as bad as I thought it was gonna be based on the sex change song, which I saw prior to seeing the film in its entirety.

I’ve heard of people dating substitutes for their parents, but this movie opened my eyes to the idea of people dating substitutes for their children.
I like the that Leo took time to help her become comfortable with the whole idea of having sex with a sex worker.
For a movie that takes place almost entirely in a hotel room, it was quite captivating.

I would’ve loved for the timeline to have not jumped so much, or for it to be more of a natural transition. Moving storyline, though. I like that they didn’t remove the romance from the story just because there was abuse involved. It shows how complex these relationships are and what makes it hard to leave.
