The Lighthouse 2019
I really like this director’s ability to fully immerse the audience in the setting of his films. The oedipus complex between Wake and Winslow was both unnerving and intriguing and it left me deeply curious about the ramifications of isolation, guilt, and an incessant thirst for knowledge. The film left ms with many questions and little answers: a growing trend for Eggers’ films but one that I’m left satisfied with.

Interesting story, but boring animation. A lot of wasted animation/runtime (still shots with music), and a lot of dialogue with no interesting action. An intriguing concept, but an underwhelming execution.
