So gritty and real and moving. Its visceral emotional catharsis is something I’ve learnt to expect from the few south indian movies I’ve watched that follow these themes with this much artistry, but the absence of any refinery or elegance to make you feel good about it that I expected from the director at that point was deliciously jarring

Parasite 2019
I owe parasite so much for introducing me to bong joon go, jae-il jung’s music and pushing me to read Korean literature and finding Han Kang. Every single one of those paths were extremely fruitful artistic experiences. I also owe parasite so much for the sheer heart and mind pleasure it offers in watching it. The heavy baroque influence in the soundtrack stuck with me for ages because it mirrored perfectly for me the (temporarily) restrained grandiosity and ornate-ness of the movie’s drama on a level I’ve really never experienced since. This movie’s the closest I’ve ever come to becoming koreaboo💔

Chemistry between professor x and magneto + magneto and mysterio i remember as the best in the series, at least the most memorable
Other characters all felt one dimensional sidekick-y, which maybe made it a more accessible intro to the franchise for my 9 year old brain. The cold war vibe was cool if superficial and mcavoy sobbing as he loses his legs is burnt into my brainTranslated from by -
