I just could not get behind this movie. Going in it was expected to be a “John Wick” action packed movie and that was definitely not what we got. It felt long and the story seemed excessive, and the fight scenes were few. Cinematically, it was incredibly taken and I’m excited to see what Dev Patel can do, but this movie did let me down. Best thing I can say is that it’s a directorial debut and it shows.

I have to say I was a little skeptical before watching the movie that it would just be another movie about the Kashmir conflict where there are things blowing up and an Indian hero emerging from the dust, but I could not have been more wrong. The way this show starts is just wow. The first couple of episodes do such a good job of carrying the story-line and setting the stage. It is a perfect serious drama with the melodrama that fills most Indian shows. The show loses me in the last episode however, because it does fall into that extreme melodrama trap, that did not feel necessary to the show. Overall though, definitely watch it.

There are not a lot of shows out there that are historically accurate and impactful, but this show does it. It does get extremely dark at times, but this only seems to add to the show. And it's only four episodes. It does a good job of setting up the political scene during the time period, but I felt as though it could use more elaboration on the political scene, especially for those who do not know what was going on. Overall, this is a very very good watch and I would definitely recommend it to everyone.
